People join organisations and leave leaders.Â
I’m Paula Broadbent, and I’m passionate about bringing a little joy to the world by helping leaders make their (and their teams') lives easier. All while keeping a strong focus on productivity.
This may sound difficult to achieve, but after 20 years of experience across various industries and organisations, I’ve worked with countless leaders to identify what truly works and what doesn’t.
I use a combination of consultancy, executive coaching, and personal development techniques to create a framework—a mechanism that focuses on the few key elements that make the biggest difference for each individual I work with.
Hi, I'm Paula Broadbent
Â
Hard work, curiosity, joy and a focus on what gets things done have defined my approach to life and work.
Throughout my career, I’ve taken on various roles that have helped me understand how businesses work and grow. I've seen what works and, of course, what sounds good but really doesn't.Â
My journey started with a sense of adventure, traveling the world and living in different countries. These experiences led me to work at a charity focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, where I discovered the importance of making a meaningful impact and how difficult this can be.
My career took a pivotal turn when I became the Commercial Director at a venture capital-funded startup. It was here, amidst the excitement of innovation and hard work, I filed several technical patents, and realised the profound impact effective leadership and organisational coaching can have on a company’s success.
With over 20 years of experience, I’ve explored what drives success and what can impede progress. After my time at the startup, I spent a decade in a global people consultancy, where I partnered with clients in both the private and public sectors. Together, we focused not only on leadership development but also on strategic implementation—ensuring that visions and goals turned into actionable results.
A key turning point in my life came during this incredibly busy consultancy phase. While in Los Angeles, I attended one of my first yoga sessions. As I left the studio, I experienced a profound sense of lightness and clarity. In that moment, my nervous system calmed, and I saw my true mind— peaceful yet filled with rich ideas. This realisation sparked a desire to harness that feeling and apply it to my work with leaders. Since then, I’ve focused on deepening my understanding of physical and emotional intelligence and embedding these practices into my coaching approach.
For the past six years, I’ve had the privilege of working as an executive and organisational coach while also serving as the Programme Director for the General Management Programme at Cranfield University’s School of Management. This role allows me to blend academic rigour with practical experience, fostering a dynamic learning environment for senior leaders.
My academic background lays a strong foundation for my work: I hold a degree in Business, a Master’s in Psychology, and postgraduate qualifications in coaching. Additionally, my training as a yoga teacher and sound practitioner enriches my development programs, integrating mindfulness and holistic practices to enhance the learning experience.
I dedicate my efforts to supporting organisations in translating their strategies into action. Whether it's enhancing the effectiveness of boards, facilitating senior teams, or providing one-on-one leadership coaching, my aim is to empower organisations, teams, and individuals to increase their impact, performance, and productivity.
My journey is more than a career; it's a commitment to creating lasting change in the workplaces and lives of those IÂ work with.Â
